Service for the Elderly
We worked with questions like how to find ways and means to improve existing elderly service and to develop new organizational models for required service functions. One particular aim with this subproject was to ensure that the elderly can reside in their normal settings, in central areas as well as in extreme rural settings as long as ever possible.
Examples of issues we looked at were:
- What service functions do we care for today, that can and must be altered for the future?
- How can we ensure that the technical development contributes to the individual?
- How can we improve availability of service for our elderly, for shopping, post, public transport and so on?
- How can we use better techniques to improve service?
- How can we keep services in remote areas?
- How can we manage infrastructure investments to meet future demands for our elderly to come?
Project Organization
All national project groups worked in a close cooperation with each other over our nation’s boundaries.
A transnational cooperation was one of our key factors for the success of our project.
Each of our national subprojects was headed by a local project leader.
